With color treated hair, is it possible under certain circumstances to lift color with color.?

You can lift slightly, but if you%26#039;re looking for something more than maybe 1 shade lighter, you%26#039;re going to have to bleach/color strip.

no, not at all. its not possible, unless u want a weird color. since ur mentioning lifting, itll probably turn orange.

trust me, i have been through SO many bleaching processes, and every person told me, u cant lift color with color. even a %26quot;high lift%26quot; color, will not work.

if u do so, ull probably have to get a toner, or color corrector

No. Never. You can only lift color with a color remover or bleach.
Reply:You can only deposit color into the hair follicle. You must use bleach to lift.
Reply:It is possible, but I wouldn%26#039;t rely on the possibility, unless you really are knowledgeable about what you are doing. Some hi-lift and high peroxide tints will lift a couple of levels on lighter to medium haircolors, typically after the all over color has faded a bit. However, the color does not come out as light as it would on virgin hair, and warm undertones are generally exposed somewhat. Also, working in the same general color family is possible right after full color application for a subtle multi-tonal look. For example, if hair is colored a medium golden red, then a lighter colored golden red can often be applied right after to brighten and slightly lighten. In both circumstances, foils (hi-lights) are the chosen application method, because color lightening color can vary throughout the length of the hair, and a highlight application makes the difference less noticeable.

Basically, the lightening action occurs because of the peroxide developer. Peroxide opens the hair and allows the color molecules to deposit, but in some cases, slight lightening action can occur. Those who are experienced with a color line can sometimes %26quot;bend the rules%26quot; a little by adjusting the peroxide volume and tonal properties of a color for a lighter effect.
Reply:nope. tint does not lift tint.

if you are lighter, you can go darker. if you are darker, you can%26#039;t go lighter with just color, you could need bleach. the only part that would go lighter would be your roots, which wouldn%26#039;t look hot.
